I've split coffee on my wool carpet. What should I do?

Blot the coffee spill promptly with a clean white cloth or paper towel — do not rub. Work from the outside of the stain toward the centre to avoid spreading and lift the stain rather than scrubbing. Use small amounts of plain water to dilute and continue blotting until transfer stops, taking care not to over‑saturate the backing. If further cleaning is needed, test a mild, pH‑neutral detergent diluted in water on an inconspicuous area first and always blot rather than scrub. Rinse by blotting with plain water and allow to dry naturally.
